Let's talk Home.
Let’s talk home. I feel like I’m in a transition phase of home décor. We are getting ready to list our current home for sale because we are in the middle of building our new home (will definitely be sharing MUCH more about that process). I think my transition phase of home décor has partially to do with my style changing, and also the seasons changing. When we first built our current home 10 years ago, I was very into the blacks/whites. We had incredibly dark bamboo flooring, black granite countertops, dark charcoal bathroom tile. The house felt very dark and you could see every single ounce of dirt, dust, fingerprints, etc. I thought I knew it all before having 4 kids! I wasn’t going to let my future children touch anything…surely they’d never eat on furniture or sharpie my white cabinets!! Hahahahhaa! I was soooo incredibly stupid! I actually remember saying “I would NEVER let my kids eat on a couch” in total disgust. Fast forward 10 years and 4 kids later, I’m lucky if these fools wipe their filthy hands on their shirts before the touch the couch that they are eating mac-n-cheese on. I’ve lost the will to fight and actually enforce the laws of Casa de Starks. Don’t judge me. It’s been a year…or ten 🥴
We actually remodeled 2 years ago. We placed Much lighter LVP on top of our almost black bamboo flooring and replaced our black granite countertops with solid white quartz. It completely transformed the feel of our home. I definitely want to carry that feel into our new home, only with some twists. I feel freedom in the fact you don’t have to commit to one certain style. I like traditional, peices of farmhouse, a little bit of glam, a touch of boho. I love to mix patterns and materials. I’m really excited to see things come together in the new house.
As for the time being, I’m focusing on decluttering (lawd help me) and lightening up my spaces. I go from full on Christmas mode to spring….ain’t nobody got time for winter! I’ll be showing you how I decluttering and spruce up each section of my house as we get ready to list it!
Thanks for stopping by and not judging the Cheetos stuck to the couch 😘
